Oil Production: 33.63 (Thousand Barrels in the Latest Year) Oil Consumption: 1,205.01 (Thousand Barrels in the Latest Year) Summarize: Write a short paragraph explaining the information you discovered and conclusions you can draw. How does this information help you develop a sense of place for the country -- living conditions, social development, use of land or other resources, etc.? With the largest energy consumers across the world, Spain ranks 5th as having no domestic production of liquid fuels and no natural gases being exported from the country. The reason being why Spain uses so much energy is because of the transportation sector usage across the country. There is a number of transportation options from being in a car to riding a train, there is the idea behind how much is available to the people of Spain. What's helping Spain generate enough power to the country is the wind energy they are generating. In 2012, Spain generated more power than any country in the European area and with renewable energy it accounted for more than 30% of Spain's power generation ("U.S. Energy Information Administration - EIA - Independent Statistics and Analysis", 2013). All of the information given gives me a sense that Spain is trying its best to reduce the usage of how much energy they consume each year by realizing just how much they are using. WIth the creation of hybrid transportation hopefully in later years this will help create a lower percentage rate across Spain and help generate more usage with the plan to renew the energy they are trying to perserve. Write down two questions you have based on what you have discovered. How can Spain incorporate more hybrid transportation vehicles to the people of Spain? Why does the country depend on a lot of transportation?
